5 Ways to Get More Wedding Photos Without Booking More Hours

Want loads of beautiful wedding photos without paying for extra hours of photography?

Good news: more time doesn’t always mean more photos.

A well-planned wedding timeline can help you squeeze a surprising amount into your photography coverage.

1. Keep Your Locations Close

This is probably the biggest one.

If your ceremony is 30 minutes from your portrait location, that’s potentially an hour of your photography coverage spent sitting in a car.

Choose somewhere beautiful at your venue — or within a few minutes of it — instead.

2. Have Your Details Ready

Want photos of your rings, invitations, perfume, jewellery or other little details?

Put everything together before your photographer arrives.

Five minutes spent hunting for the other wedding ring is five minutes you’re not getting photos.

3. Make a Family Photo List

Please, please do this one.

Instead of standing around after the ceremony trying to remember whether you’ve taken a photo with Aunt Susan, write down your

combinations beforehand.

Keep it to the groups that actually matter and have someone who knows the family help gather everyone.

4. Don’t Disappear After the Ceremony

We get it. You just got married! Everyone wants to hug you!

But if you’ve only booked a couple of hours, a 30-minute congratulations session can eat up a huge chunk of your coverage.

You can absolutely celebrate with everyone — just be conscious of your timeline.

5. Tell Your Photographer What’s Important

If there’s something you desperately want photographed, tell us!

Maybe it’s a photo with Grandma. Maybe you spent six months making your decorations. Maybe you really, really want sunset portraits.

Knowing your priorities helps your photographer use the available time where it matters most.

You Might Not Need More Hours

Before adding another hour to your package, look at your timeline.

Could you reduce travel? Organise family photos better? Move something slightly earlier?

Wedding photography doesn’t need to take over your entire day.

Sometimes, a little planning is all you need to get more from the hours you’ve already booked.
