Some weddings are elegant. Some are intimate. And some manage to be both, with a generous dose of laughter woven through every moment.

Chandrika and Josh’s wedding at St Andrews Anglican Church was one of those beautifully balanced days. Historic grandeur met heartfelt intimacy, and the result was something incredibly special.

A Meaningful Ceremony in a Stunning Historic Church

From the moment guests arrived at St Andrews Anglican Church, there was a sense of reverence in the air. The architecture alone tells stories of generations past. High ceilings, beautiful detailing, and that timeless Anglican charm created the perfect backdrop for Chandrika and Josh to exchange vows.

Their ceremony was intentionally intimate, with just immediate family gathered close. There is something profoundly moving about smaller weddings. Every smile is seen. Every tear is noticed. Every laugh carries further.

And laugh they did.

These two are genuinely hilarious together. The side glances. The whispered comments. The shared grins during the vows. It made the entire space feel warm and alive. Even within the grandeur of a historic Anglican church, their joy filled every corner.

We captured portraits both inside and outside the church and adjoining hall. The historic backdrop gave their images such depth and character, while their playful personalities brought movement and energy to every frame.

There were also subtle cultural elements woven throughout their celebration, adding richness and meaning as they honoured heritage while stepping into married life together.

A Delicious Lunch Celebration

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a relaxed lunch gathering. Rather than hosting a large scale reception, Chandrika and Josh chose to share refreshments with immediate family.

The atmosphere was calm, joyful, and deeply personal. Delicious food. Meaningful conversations. That unmistakable just-married glow.

It was a beautiful reminder that weddings do not have to be large to be impactful.

Sometimes intimacy creates the most memorable atmosphere of all.

Day Two Celebrations

And then something we are seeing become more and more popular happened.

Day two.

We were invited back for a second celebration, which we absolutely love. There is something so special about being welcomed into not just one moment, but an extended family gathering.

This time, it was a large family lunch celebration. The energy was different in the best way. More relaxed. More playful. A chance to celebrate again without the formal structure of the ceremony.

We also captured bridal portraits in the park, which gave Chandrika and Josh another opportunity to soak in being newlyweds. The greenery, the natural light, and their effortless chemistry made these portraits feel soft and romantic.

It felt like the perfect continuation of a wedding that prioritised connection above all else.

And Chandrika’s tip for keeping her day affordable? Organised an intimate wedding with just immediate family and refreshment after
